You Rock!

You rock, became my oldest daughters catch phrase about a year ago. Her response to almost anything is YOU ROCK! So when I was trying to come up with her special gift from me this Christmas, you rock was a given. I decided that a journal the two of us could write back and forth to each other in would be perfect. It had to be bright, bold and blingy to match her personality, and of course it had to rock.

For the background papers I used a pink out of my stash for the top and a piece of the K&Co. Berry Sweet pad for the bottom. The boarder paper is from Paper Studio. I stamped the skull from Stampin Up Just Jawing in Color Box Rouge on a piece of scrap shinny card stock. The eyes and bow on the skull are filled in with Martha Stewart Rubellite glass glitter. I then placed the skull on top of a felt piece I found in the dollar spot at Micheal's a year or so ago. All of that was placed on top of a piece of ribbon across the middle. Spare Parts letters were used for the YOU ROCK.

Again thank you for stopping by.

I could totally copy that!

I could totally copy that, was almost the name of this little blog. That's right I steal ideas and I am not afraid to admit it. I am not afraid to admit it because I do a horrible job of copying people. Horrible! The good news is I make it my own, and I am not afraid to share.
So this project is a bunch of ideas I have copied over time. It is a Christmas gift for my daughter's teacher this year. Her teacher is a huge fan of Mary Engelbreit. HUGE! So my daughter came home from school one day last week and told me "I told Mrs. H that you will make her a Mary Engelbreit clip board for Christmas." Really? I was thinking a nice gift card would be nice, but okay I can do that.

Here is the front:

Here is the back:

I really hope she likes it. I had a ton of fun making it. Plus, I was able to use up a ton of scraps and did not have to leave the house for anything. Always a bonus this time of year!

Thanks for looking!
